Ten homes an hour needed to keep up with immigration

The UK will have to build a house every six minutes around the clock for 20 years to keep up with immigration, an ex-Labour minister claims.

Frank Field yesterday said 70 per cent of population growth in that time would be down to the influx. .

That amounts to seven million people - or seven new Birminghams. The former Welfare Minister blamed political correctness for silencing ordinary Brits' concerns - and giving extremists a toe in the door.


Mr Field said: "The losers have been the citizens of this country, those with the longest roots and those who have newly arrived." And the Birkenhead MP warned: "If the Government does not adopt a policy of balanced migration, our population will rise to a level to which the vast majority of people are opposed. continues here
