Police in the Belgian capital Brussels have arrested 43 people following a second night of civil unrest.

On Thursday, nine police were injured, one seriously, when violence broke out after a 14-year-old was taken into custody in the suburb of Molenbeek.

The area has a large population of North African immigrants and the youth was wanted by the authorities for taunting officers on the beat during Ramadan.

Police came under attack from stones and Molotov cocktails and cars in the area were torched. continues here
