UP to 70 per cent of the population must start being vaccinated against swine flu now to prevent a winter pandemic, say experts.Children and at-risk groups should receive the jab first to stop schools and homes from becoming a hotbed for the spread of the virus.
A study in the journal Science says the programme then needs to be rolled out because the virus spreads so easily. It warns that a vaccine, as opposed to antiviral drugs like Tamiflu, should be the first line of defence. The study by US researchers is likely to become relevant to the UK. continues here
