U.S. escalating covert operations against Iran

NEW YORK (Reuters) - U.S. congressional leaders agreed late last year to President George W. Bush's funding request for a major escalation of covert operations against Iran aimed at destabilizing its leadership, according to a report in The New Yorker magazine published online on Sunday.

The article by reporter Seymour Hersh, from the magazine's July 7 and 14 issue, centres around a highly classified Presidential Finding signed by Bush which by U.S. law must be made known to Democratic and Republican House and Senate leaders and ranking members of the intelligence committees.

"The Finding was focused on undermining Iran's nuclear ambitions and trying to undermine the government through regime change," the article cited a person familiar with its contents as saying, and involved "working with opposition groups and passing money."

Hersh has written previously about possible administration plans to go to war to stop Tehran from obtaining nuclear weapons, including an April 2006 article in the New Yorker that suggested regime change in Iran, whether by diplomatic or military means, was Bush's ultimate goal.

Funding for the covert escalation, for which Bush requested up to $400 million (200 million pounds), was approved by congressional leaders, according to the article, citing current and former military, intelligence and congressional sources.

Clandestine operations against Iran are not new. U.S. Special Operations Forces have been conducting crossborder operations from southern Iraq since last year, the article said.

These have included seizing members of Al Quds, the commando arm of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, and taking them to Iraq for interrogation, and the pursuit of "high-value targets" in Bush's war on terrorism, who may be captured or killed, according to the article. continues here
  

When will it stop, the bloodshed, the stupidly, the use of the naïve in a war not in their interest, perhaps never, it has always been the way and perhaps always will be, patriotism, love of country and flag, is used to bewitch the young, propelling them to the front. Yet still they claim that these are wars against tyranny, wars against an aggressor, “we must stop Iran creating a nuclear arsenal”, why, because they are predominantly Muslim, because they are a Semitic people. Israel is a Semitic non-European nation, yet the whole world loves them, they send spies to steal nuclear secrets and nothing is done, not a word is said. It is too late now of course, Israel that must vicious of nations has nuclear weapons, has the capacity to devastate, unlike Caucasians, Semitic peoples are more liable to use force, more prone to violence, have more of a predilection for death. In sixty years that little nation has become a nuclear power, welding such global power; everyone fights to sit at their dinner table, unlike most purported right-wing individuals I hold no malice towards Islam, carry no burning candle of hate. Yes I will fight with any means at my disposal, against the damaging effects of multiculturalism however, I will not be blinded by the light, shone out by an anti-Islamic press.

It seems as if the whole world has been gripped, as if by a madness, each slavering fool surpassing the other in their anti-Islamic twaddle, yes of course Islam presents as a threat, one would have to be a fool to pretend it doesn’t however, attacking Islam solely does nothing more, than enable the truly darker forces afoot in this world, to augment their demonic grip. As a nationalist, I can fully comprehend the struggle faced by Islam, the fight being fought by the people of the east, I can see, if you will, behind the headlines, the news behind the news. If one owns the press then it is easy to demonise, easy to sway the people, it is not a new phenomenon one has only to look to the vilification of the German peoples, during and since the last Great War to see the effects of propaganda. One can also nearer to home, find similarity in the media’s assault upon Islam and its almost identical besiegement of nationalism. No Islam as a creed, presents far less a threat to the west than the public generally perceive, yet the deed is done, the bogeyman has been created, even seasoned nationalists sway in rhythm to the evil tune. In the now pluralist west, tradition holds no virtue, morally is scoffed and degeneracy races at full steam, there is nothing here to stop the monster, nothing here to slay the dragon.

There once was of course, once Christianity defended the west, her ethics her traditions and her lands, Christianity although of origin alien became shaped by the west into her defender. Not so now of course, Christianity has abandoned its people in their greatest hour of need, left them to wallow in degeneracy and cupidity, its leadership have committed the greatest of all sins, treason and collaboration. Islam of course shows a different face, it battles for all it is worth against this malicious orthodoxy, fights tooth and nail against its would-be oppressors, for this is has become a most vilified creed, hunted across the globe, beset by all. As you skip through the many weblogs now found upon the internet, as you search out those of a rightist perspective, have an in-depth look, many display their loyalty to Israel with some prominence, for me dual loyalty creates suspicion, does it not for you. Are you not in the least bit worried that, this tiny little nation holds such prominence in all spheres of western society, that so many avow allegiance, whilst it causes such abject misery, such devastation?

Does it not perturb you that, it is Israel that is the most vocal in calling for attacks upon Iran, Iran after all having done no harm to the west, how many more young lives must be surrendered to secure Israel’s dominance, when do you want the bloodshed to stop. Many within the so-called rightwing community, work to a none nationalist agenda, shoring up tyranny whilst mouthing rightist platitudes, playing to popular opinion created by the popular press, it is nice to be popular one supposes. Now some within the right, will call me a Muslim apologist, some well taught individuals will move on to another site, one that fits in more, with their idea of nationalism, more populist in approach, more reader friendly, after all anti-Islam is all the rage, it is the thing to be, just as anti-nationalist is. Perhaps therefore, such people should re-evaluate their “nationalism” see it for what it is, anti-Islamic prejudice, not nationalism, nationalism respects all, believes that all nations, peoples and creeds are equally valid, it holds that each specific genotype is precious and it works to protect natures diversity.

Nationalism recognises difference, it tries, albeit sometimes vainly, to adhere to mother natures design, it does not pander to an alien press, nor does it kneel to the moneymen. After I am gone, another nationalist shall take my chair, another voice shall ring out, and another individual shall strive to secure a future for our children and the preservation of the white genotype. The age in which I live holds out no prospect of a nationalist victory, no chance of triumph, I fully accept that, yet I cannot yield, cannot stand idle as my race dies, moreover, I cannot stand mute as tyranny grows, to do so sins against the past, the present and more importantly for me, the future. 14
