Millionaire footballer Marlon King hit a young woman so hard it knocked her and two of her friends off their feet, a jury heard today.
King's alleged assault left the university student with a broken nose and 'covered with blood' after she rejected his advances at a West End celebrity haunt.
One of those who fell over claimed that shortly before throwing the punch the £5 million Wigan Athletic striker had fondled both her and another woman.
'He came up to us and touched us on the back of the neck," she told London's Southwark Crown Court.
'My friend pushed his hand away. Afterwards he told us we were beautiful and we just tried to move away from him.'
The woman, who was part of a 21st birthday party at the Soho Revue Bar, said the 'muscular' player then turned his attention to the 'slightly built' student, who spoke yesterday of him having 'grabbed' one of her buttocks minutes earlier.
'I heard her quite firmly say 'Don't do that, it is not nice'.
'I turned to see what was going on. I was about arm's length away from her. I heard him say "I'm just out of your league. I'm a multi-millionaire".'
The witness claimed that as the player smiled, showed a 'gold tooth' and turned to two men with them 'as if to get approval for saying I'm out of her league'.
Her friend replied: 'I don't care who you are, take your multi-millions and get away from our table.'
Then, when another member of the group allegedly told King to 'leave her alone and move on', the witness said.
She said King replied 'What, like this?' as he 'kept tapping her on the head'.
The witness continued: 'My friend put her hand up to try and block him from touching her head, but he then grabbed her wrist and was kind of like pushing it down.
'I thought that basically he was touching her and she didn't want him to, so I grabbed his wrist to pull it off her ... but I was unsuccessful.
'He then punched her in the face. The blow was very hard and because I was still in contact with him when he threw the punch it pulled me across the sofa and the table and knocked both me and another friend over.
'It also knocked the person he punched out of sight because I couldn't see her afterwards. She was on the floor.
'Everybody started to jump in across the sofas to get to Marlon King and the bouncers also tried to join in.
'I just tried to get to my friend. I could tell she had some damage to her face. She was covered in blood.'
She added: 'The man was putting his hands up like basically taunting the people in our group and then the bouncers were trying to move him out of the way and then I didn't see him after that.'
The court has heard the injured student was later taken to hospital.
Roger Daniells-Smith, prosecuting, yesterday described the footballer's alleged attack as 'completely gratuitous violence'. continues here

He got 9 months, so he'll serve 4 months. 4 months for breaking a girl's nose.

Celebrity has always insulated some from justice, yet today non-whites have an elevated status above and beyond that of whites, therefore it goes without saying that sentencing will reflect such bias. Hitting a women in any situation is wrong, yet to, “hit a young woman so hard it knocked her and two of her friends off their feet”, is beyond the pale, it seems our judiciary disagree…
