The majority of British politicians are not exploiting the full potential of the internet, it has been revealed.
Apart from the British National Party (BNP), MPs are not using the internet effectively enough to get their message and policies over online, a report has claimed.
Politics, Policy and the Internet, by Robert Colvile, states that the internet will revolutionise politics in the 21st century in the same way that that television and radio did in the 20th century.
The Centre for Policy Studies report revealed that the BNP website has the same market share as all of the other major political parties combined.
Mr Colvile said this was: "Startling evidence of the failure of the main political parties to exploit the potential of the web".
He said MPs could learn the lessons from unofficial organisations such as bloggers, activists and campaign groups who have exploited the potential of the internet......Article conts (-)
